php 5.3

PHP 5.2 reached its end of life nearly 2.5 years. ago. It hasn't been upgraded since and it will never be upgraded again. When will concrete5 drop support for php 5.2 and require 5.3 as a minimum requirement? There are some improvements I would love to see and would even be willing to contribute but php 5.2 won't support them. I feel that continuing support for a long dead version of php is holding you back. You have to do it eventually so you might as well do it now.
However, the communication from the core team (which I only half-remember) made it seem like that's a few years off. One of the criteria was that the other big frameworks / CMS' have gone 5.3+ and been so successfully for at least a few months.
With that being said, c5 features appear to be schizophrenic, so it wouldn't totally surprise me if a c5.x.y version suddenly required PHP 5.3.
