Problems updating from 5.4.1.1 to 5.4.2 or 5.4.2.1
Permalink
I am having a problem updating concrete5 to the latest version.
What I have been doing is:
1. Download the latest version on concrete5 5.4.2.1
2. Unziped the folder
3. Used FTP to replace the folder wwwroot>>concrete with the folder concrete5.4.2.1>>concrete
Once I do this I log on to my website url but all I get is a blank (white) screen. I have also tried going tohttp://www.yoursite.com/index.php/tools/required/upgrade.php... but the same blank screen appears.
I run concrete5 on my local machine and have done this process and it has updated with no problems.
Can anyone help please!

Hi yes I've tried updating to 5.4.2 first but it had the same result a blank White screen.
When I reset it back to 5.4.1.1 from my back up on the dashboard is says that there is an update available to 5.4.2.1 but again when I go to the update and click download it runs for a short time and then ends on a blank White page.

i did not hsve any problem. I downloaded the new concrete and placed it in the update folder located www(root) folder and went into the dashboard and ran the update from there. Maybe this will help you.
Not sure if this helps, but I couldn't update to 5.4.2.1 from 5.4.1.1?
I had to update to 5.4.2 first?
My problem was the new Composer beta element threw an error.
Might be worth trying.
