Hello everyone,

I'm having some issues while installing version 5.6.3.1.
I get the following screen (see attachments)

My webhost is novahosting (http://en.novahosting.ch/)

the page ishttp://noriasys.com/Noriasys/index.php/install/...

If someone has any idea how to fix this?

Thank you for your help and your time,

I am having the same issue, did you figure out what the problem was?

I think the host server is not set up properly to serve .png files. The paths are correct and in fact this gif image displays correctly:

http://noriasys.com/Noriasys/concrete/images/delete_rating.gif...

I would check with tech support at novahosting

I have this domain under a sub folder of my main hosting. Doest that matter? Maybe I need to point things to the sub folder?

@Maglink... your main domain has only 2 images on the page and they are JPGs. Can you edit this original page and put a small PNG image on it somewhere to test if the server is rendering PNGs properly?

@amvending... Can you give us a URL to your site so we can check it out? Perhaps your site doesn't contain any PNG images either so this problem has been there all the time but you've never seen it.

Ahhh @amvending... You must be on Godaddy!! I cannot help you. Some of their servers are a mess and I vowed never to deal with them. Just search these concrete5 forums for 'godaddy problems' and you will see what I mean. I would highly recommend you move to a different host. I have had very good luck with SiteGround but whoever you are thinking about going with, check them out first at http://www.hostjury.com and ask about their reputation here on these forums for feedback. Your problem is very different from Maglink's issue. They appear to be the same but they are not.

@amvending... you say that you are installing concrete5 into a subdomain but it appears you are installing directly into your main domain.

I have amvending.com and I have a subdomain setup under the directory /repairs this is where I have the new install going (I hope). By the way amvending.com uses concrete5 and works well

Wow @amvending... I could have sworn I was being prompted to install concrete5 when I visitedhttp://amvending.com but now it doesn't. I now see your original site and I'm prompted to install concrete5 at the /repair subfolder and the PNGs on the install page are working fine. What changed in the last hour?

It's still broken for me as well. Honestly I've had a great number of problems with godaddy, most of which I have been able to overcome with a bit of struggling but IMHO it's really not worth it.

FWIW Concrete5 isn't the only cms that has problems running on godaddy web hosting inside of a sub directory. Both drupal and Joomla forums you'll find numerous issues all related to the same thing. If you do insist on continuing to stay with them, you might try reaching out to your hosting provider for support as they should be able to assist you with this sort of issue.

So I think we're all a bit confused here. When I visit http://vendmedic.com (no subdomain) it's broken. If I visit http://amvending.com/repairs it works great (see attached screenshot)

Where are you trying to install it?
amvending replied on at Permalink Reply
I have the vendmedic.com pointing to the /repairs

I will install it on /repairs

That worked, thanks for straightening me out on the path. LOL

So ishttp://www.vendmedic.com going to be the final, 'real' domain eventually?

If so, why not just turn off the 'pointing' and install it directly onto vendmedic.com?

Hi,

First, thank you for your help and sorry for the really (really) late answer.

The account Maglink has been deleted for some reason (?)

So I tried what you told me : I changed a .jpg for a .png image, and it came out you were right !
I've been trying to contact novahosting helpdesk for one month, but they aren't answering...

Is there anyway I can fix that by my own or it's the webhost's job to do it?

Once again, thank you for your help.

Ok,

I finally found what was the problem.

The .png were not displaying correctly...

In filezilla, I set the transfer on auto rather than ASCII, and it solved the problem.

Hope it could help someone.

Thanks for the previous answer

Son of a gun. Good to know. Thanks for posting back.

When I install c5, I upload a zip file and unzip it on the server so I have never come across this.
