Question to the update-process

Hi all,

As far as I know an Update of an existing concrete5-installation will overwrite existing files, right?
I would like to know if there is a possibility to keep changes in files (e.g. I have changed the file \c5\concrete\mail\user_registered_approval_complete.php) and I don`t want to change all the files again of course (after an update).

Thank you very much in advance, Kai

You should never, ever, change anything in the /concrete directory of your website.

Put it instead in the root directory of your website. concrete5 will use it in priority, before the files in /concrete.

In your case, just put your

/concrete/mail/user_registered_approval_complete.php

in

/mail/user_registered_approval_complete.php

Thank you very much, I will read that definetely.

But does it work with all files?
e.g. I made little changes in \c5\concrete\core\controllers\single_pages\register.php, but
there is no directory c5\core..... where I can put the changed file?
