After a mariaDD removal and reinstall (server corrupted) I am attempting to do a clean reinstall (RHEL7). The web server user has been given ownership of all indicated folders. However the installer continues to report that the folders do not have the correct permissions and halts.

I have done this countless times. What am I missing? Is there a hidden file somewhere I missed deleting from the previous install? I even tried installing to a different folder - same results. It's Friday afternoon and I need a beer :-)
