Removed theme - how do I get it back?
Permalink 1 user found helpfulThe concrete5 website docs say this theme goes into /file/trash. But near as I can tell, nothing has been moved. I just can't use it. It doesn't show up on themes to install, it won't show up on search. If I bring up my Add Functionality screen it shows as installed and ready to go, and lets me edit it.
But I can find nowhere on any menu that you will actually let me add this %&$*%&$ theme back so it actually shows up! What is the deal Concrete5?
To get your theme back from an accidental hit of the "Remove" button, follow these steps:
1/ Log into your site and go to "dashboard > extend concrete5"
2/ find your theme, and click the "Edit" button next to it
3/ click the option to uninstall
4/ DO NOT check the box to send the theme to your servers trash bin
5/ once uninstalled, click "install"
6/ return to "Pages and themes > themes" your theme should be listed again, click activate next to it, your content should re-appear also, its probably just disappeared because when you removed the theme, the default theme that appeared instead probably had differently named areas, your content shouldn't be lost.
(NB - I don't know if this is true for anyone else, but often on pages in my dashboards some of the buttons have weird horizontal noise over them that goes away when you roll over the button. Usually it's not a problem, just a nuisance, but in this case I hit a button I couldn't really read and caused a real problem.)
Like the previous author, I now have a theme that shows as fully installed and ready to go in the Add Functionality page, but does not appear in the Themes page for me to activate. The File Manager shows all the files in place.
The newbie, "teach me a lesson" question here is "what is the exact function of the Remove button?". The practical question is, "how do I get this theme activated, now that I have removed it's name from the list of installed themes?".
Many, many thanks,
Andrew
