Restore db to a new install

Hi folks,

I will be moving my c5 installation from a dev environment into production soon.

Is it possible for me to do a completely fresh install and then restore my db and all the other folders except for the /concrete directory?

If I overwrite everything except /concrete in my new install and restore the db will this work?

if you just move the db, make sure you copy the password salt from your

/configs/site.php to the new install otherwise your passwords wont work

sorry im not entirely sure what you mean? Is the salt like a hashed password?

Is it ok to overwrite all the other folders with my c5 folders containing my own blocks?
