Sections don't appear for non-logged in users. But appear in edit mode? Help?

Hi there,
I have a simple website using concrete5 that worked fine until recently when I changed the cache settings. For whatever reasons certain blocks will only appear when logged in, they won't display for public/guest users.
Previously and now-currently in edit mode the site looks fine, but logged out 'Slideshow' blocks no longer appear and content blocks are displaying incorrectly. Although in edit mode it works fine.
I have reset the cache settings (Caching on, Automatic etc), and checked all the privilege settings but they seem to be normal.
Does anyone have any idea what could be causing the problem?

I'm not sure exactly what the "areas" are that are not showing but the first thing i would do is go into edit mode and click on each area/block that isn't showing correctly and click on set permissions and make sure the settings are correct for "guests" to have proper access...
Permissions to view the block are set to 'Guest' already.

are the permissions of the header area also allowing guest views?
Yeah they are. :S
Could it have something to do with JavaScript or jQuery ?
