Site e-mails come from Admin e-mail address
Permalink
Hi
I was wondering if anyone could help me out with this.
Whenever my c5 site sends out e-mails, (like if a user submits a contact form on the website) it will send the e-mail to the administrators, but the 'From' address, is always my e-mail address, as I am the main Admin that set it up.
Is there a way to change this?
Thanks

Hi thanks for replying so quickly.
I am sorry to say, that's not what I meant :(
If I change that 'Recipient Email', it only changes who the message is delivered to, not who the message is displayed from.
I have found a workaround, but it involves changing MY admin e-mail address to something like noreply@mydomain.com, which is annoying, because I will never get any e-mails from the site.

Oh I get ya, yes your work around will work but I see it is not ideal.
How about creating a new Admin user for yourself and changing the super user account? Still a work around though :(

Yeah - good idea.
I had just done that after I read your first reply haha :)
Thanks

I am sure there is a better way of doing it, I will mull it over and get back to you when I have had more caffeine or sudden inspiration.
I just found a post that Lucas Anderson gave an excellent reply to.
This may be your solution, hopefully anyway.

Any chance of a 'Best Answer' :P
Haha - I was getting there...
There you go :D
There you go :D
For forms there is a tab called options when you put the block in edit mode. In options you have a field called Recipients Email, you enter the email address you would like there.
Hope that helps.
