Site not working
Permalink
I tried this once deleted everything now started from scratch. Installed c5 thru simple scripts on HostMonster. Built my site gladiatorsports.us installed c5 @ public_html/GladiatorSports.
I read the info on moving a site and I cannot figure out how to get the site live by just going to the domain name without the /GladiatorSports
Someone please provide some plain English instructions or direct me to some.
Thanks in advance

what you do, is move the contents of /gladiatorsports to the root (/public_html) and then open /config/site.php and remove the line that has DIR_REL and BASE_URL in it
Ok did what you said and the great news is I can see the home page. the bad news is when i click any of the links i get this error.

Thanks! Everything seems to be working just fine now!!
Hi Mnkras,
Good call - I have just used this technique to get a site up and running. It was a softaculous install and I just couldn't get the site to show up.
I am just wondering - what are the implications of deleting those lines - I mean, if they aren't needed, why are they there in the first place?
Thanks
Allison

Basically they are there as some minor security, removing them makes it fall back to the defaults in the base.php
they are there to redirect all requests to that site,
so removing them won't change much

Brilliant thanks.
