Sitemap "Page Unavailable"

My sitemap is no longer available and I cannot add any new pages.
The rest of the site is ok and works.
I have cleared the cache for the site and my local browsers (firefox & chrome) to no avail.
I have restored a previous backup following a problem with the 5.4 upgrade. I the restore includes the SQL and full "home" directory.
Can anyone help or advise please?

so are you on 5.4 or 5.3.3.1 now?
I've gone back to 5.3.3.1 using a backup a few days before I tried to upgrade.
The upgrade fail was due to a permission change by a "overly helpful" host :)
I want to fix this problem then upgrade.

i think you might be better off upgrading and then fixing the problem. Chances are permissions are off for your sitemap page in the dashboard, or files are just missing from the core at this point...
ok, i'll try the upgrade again.....
Just surprised there are files missing as I just back the whole "drive" rather than any individual directory.

Ok this is weird?
I extract and copied the files, went to the upgrade URL and it tells me I am already upgraded to 5.3.3.1 - but the files I copied are for 5.4?
Have I missed something?

After upgrading to 5.4 I'm also getting a blank Sitemap page (blank as in the top and left nav are still there with just a gray background in the area where the sitemap should be). Also to note the "System & Maintenance" tab and its sub tabs are all displaying no content as well.
I've doubled checked the install and the site is working fine. I've also cleared cache both on the site and my browser. I've check the admin in both Firefox and Safari. The pages aren't giving any errors and when I look at the source code there is just no info in the "ccm-dashboard-content-inner" div.
Any help would be great.

So I reverted back to 5.3.3.1 after I couldn't get the sitemap to show up. The only problem now is that the sitemap doesn't show up in 5.3.3.1.
What file could have been changed or messed up that it would be doing this? Again chache has been cleared and its still blank.
