Softaculous update
Permalink
My hosting company (A Small Orange) uses Softaculous and I used it to try and upgrade Concrete for a neglected site.
After running the Softaculous script /conc57/index.php/install asked me to choose a language, then a testing environment page gave everything green ticks, then I was asked to enter the site information.
I entered all the info but it seems to want to overwrite the existing site. When I try I get the following error:
Database should be empty
There are already 314 tables in this database. concrete5 must be installed in an empty database.
Softaculous says it is now 8.5.4 but I can't login as it keeps coming back to the install pages. Not sure what to do next.
It's been a while since I've done any of this and I'm a bit out of my depth. Any help is appreciated - thanks in advance.

Thanks mnakalay - it's been neglected a while so that would explain it.
Do you think there is any way to override the upgrade and just login to the existing dashboard for now?

You could try this toolhttps://github.com/mkly/concrete5-Lockpick...
Thanks for the help mnakalay - I gave it a shot but it didn't work. Looks like I need to rebuild.
If you can wait a day or 2 and can give me access to your server and database I might be able to help you by trying other things before you do a full rebuild.
Thanks - that is generous of you but the site was in need of refreshing so I've bit the bullet and I'll do a fresh install and rebuild.
You're very welcome.
If you have the possibility to rebuild it is definitely the best choice

The latest legacy version was 5.6.3.4 I believe (to be verified)
