Switching between SSL and non-SSL

Does Concrete5 support switching between SSL and non-SSL on the fly or do you normally setup C5 as one or the other?
From my recent experience, its one or the other.
You can use my free Force SSL addon to do this for you...

I haven't tried it yet, but that sounds like exactly what I needed back then. I'm at a new job now and I don't get to do C5 dev professionally anymore, but I'll remember Force SSL for future use in my side projects.
