This page has a redirect loop

Hi, in the process of moving a site to a new host - BlueHost. Have everything uploaded, database imported, and site.php configured for the database.
We haven't switched the DNS yet, so the site is accessed through a temp url like so:
http://69.195.124.119/~kollege1/...
That works, but clicking anything and going to a new page yields the 'this page has a redirect loop' - and the address looks like:
http://69.195.124.119/~kollege1/~kollege1/~kollege1/etc.... etc.
Thought it might be pretty url's so I turned those off, but that wasn't it.
Thoughts?
