Total newbie - Error in dashboard - pages/themes not found

Hi I'm trying to install C5 and only partly succeeding doing this with ver. 5.3.3.1.
Everything seems to work fine appart from Error in dashboard - pages/themes.
Have tried several fumble workarounds in config/site.php and in php config file. No matter what i can't seem to open themes menu in dashboard. pls . Help.
