Trying to add block downloaded from marketplace -- Not showing up

So I have downloaded the Simple PHP Block from the marketplace and then followed the following steps:

1. Extracted the folder contents on my desktop

2. Used an FTP Client to upload the folder and its contents into
root/blocks

3. Went to the Block Types page from the dashboard. Expecting to see it as needed to be installed.

Well I didn't see it as needing to be installed or available for use. I also tried the Simple Image Gallery Block but that also did not work.

What am I doing wrong?

Because the block is in a package, you will need to upload it to root/packages.

Having said that, you should be able to use the marketplace installer. On your concrete5.org projects page, click to your project and your available licences will be listed in a select at the bottom of the project. Assign the licence and it will now show up on the site's dashboard install page.

Okay so I followed the steps you gave me and then went back into Dashboard->Block Types and I am still seeing this message: "No custom block types are awaiting installation." and it still doesn't show up.

I also tried moving it to root/packages but still nothing.

You need to go to the dashboard page for installing addons, not block types.
