Unable to install 5.4xx, 5.3 installs successfully

C5 5.3 installs flawlessly however, 5.4 gives a blank screen after the tables are built. I created a new database and installed a fresh copy of 5.4 and again, it returns a blank screen. Can someone assist me in successfully installing C5 version 5.4 up? I even download twice C5 v 5.4 and still no difference.
