i've been hanging in the wings to hear of a resolution to the php upgrade by machwy that put down these sites and mine. HAVE ANY OF YOU FOUND A RESOLUTION? :) i'm also running 5.4.2.2 for site dayacheson.info and do have full backups and am considering attempting a cpanel upgrade to a newer version. has anyone had success yet with this plan? upgrading through the versions slowly? upgrading directly to 5.6.1.2? all responses welcome!

Machighway support cant't seem to help me decipher the instructions on this pagehttp://www.concrete5.org/documentation/how-tos/developers/update-ve...
which they sent me. My site is down due to an incompatibility with the version of concrete5 that I am using - 5.4.2.2. I can't get to the Dashboard. Can someone please, in plain and simple steps, tell me how to move forward and get my site back up. I am using cPanel X. Thank you!

From c5.4.2.2 you first need to upgrade to c5.5.2.1 then upgrade from that to the latest.

I have recently done this for a site from c5.4.2.2 to c5.5.2.1 to c5.6.1.2. I have not personally done such an upgrade to c5.6.2.1, but in theory that should work.

Don't forget to make a full database and files backup before starting the upgrade process. My Backup Voddoo addon works that far back. http://www.concrete5.org/marketplace/addons/backup-voodoo/...

Also manually check through all your addons to make sure they are compatible with each version you will be upgrading through.

Its usually best to swap to a default theme during the upgrade and to temporarily remove any overrides, so removing any theme and override issues from the process.

If your site is anything other than straight forward, I strongly advocate testing the upgrade process on a clone, or ideally upgrading a clone and swapping them when done. See http://www.concrete5.org/documentation/how-tos/developers/organise-...
