Understanding Concrete5
Permalink
Hi,
I'm trying to understand the concept of Concrete5 and how it differs from other CMS sites like Wordpress and was wondering if someone could shed some light on the subject please.
Are projects templates or complete sites? There seems to be this requirement to link your Concrete5 site to a project - what's that all about?
Why cant I link my current site to a different Concrete5 account - what impact does it have on the site
I have tried to get my head around the documentation but I'm missing the link somewhere.

A Project refers to a URL adress, so
http://www.yourfunproject.com
and
http://www.yourfunproject.net
are different projects.
This is mostly to manage the licenses for the paid add-ons and keeping up-to-date with them.
Each theme or add-on license you purchase can be connected to only one project.
It is not a requirement to assign your site to a project of your c5 account, but it helps with updating the add-ons and core of your site.
The reason why you cannot switch to another c5 account is because you would lose ownership of the add-ons you purchased - they are tied to the c5 account.
