Update from 5.5.2.1 to 5.6.1.2

Is it possible to safely update directly to 5.6.1.2 from 5.5.2.1? For some reason I am unable to go to the very next version.
From my past experience, you could try upgrade first to 5.6.0.2 then to 5.6.1.2
You can update to a specific version by manually downloading it from here and then uploading it to your 'updates' folder:http://www.concrete5.org/developers/downloads/...
