Hello, a bit of a problem?

I do believe my update did not complete the job.

When I log in all I get is "checking for updates" I can see the "dashboard" but can't use it. Can't get to my backup to restore old version.

When I log-out the website is slow but basically functions except for "add a new blog post"

So far I have downloaded a new v5.5.1 to my computer, FTP up to server (DreamHost)concrete root. Continue to have same problem?
