Updating from 5.3.3.1. to 5.4.2.2

What is the easiest way to update from 5.3.3.1. to 5.4.2.2? Clicking update in the dashboard just takes me to the downloads page so I am guessing it is so old auto update is out of date.

Any step by step help on this type of update?

Any help you guys could share would be greatly appreciated.
