updating problems

Hello All!
I've jsut updated to concrete5.6.1.2 but now when i try and change some code in the back end files they wont change! and when i look in the url it now says /updates/concrete5.6.1.2_updater/concrete/blocks/........ how to id get rid of /updates/concrete5.6.1.2_updater? I can't find the folder on the system and the folder with updates in it is empty. please help!!!
