SOLVED - Upgrade Issue -5.7.5.8 to 5.7.5.13 - Error Message
Permalink
I am new to Concrete5 and already running into a buzzsaw - so please be gentile as I attempt to describe:
1. Did the One-Click install on Dreamhost. The version that Dreamhost uploaded was 5.7.5.8.
2. The install went fine - no issues as I can see.
3. Open C5 and see the welcome window - says I should upgrade to 5.7.5.13.
(Question 1 - But isn't the latest version v8.1?)
4. Click through the link and click on the download button.
5. Get this message:
"Allowed memory size of 94371840 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 41015226 bytes.)
After reading the documentation about downloads - and upgrades:
https://documentation.concrete5.org/developers/installation/installa...
https://documentation.concrete5.org/developers/installation/upgradin...
*I am a little confused.* I gather from the instructions that it is downloading to my computer, and then I have to then upload the files (automatic in the application) or manually via FTP into the server.
I have about 22.4Gb of space on my C drive - so the space error is not making sense. *I's the message talking about my local computer, or the host? I would not think the host - unless it just knows what is going on?
I think that there are missing words in the description of what to do, like:
1. Download the latest core fromhttp://www.concrete5.org/download... (download to where? My computer of the hosting server?)
2. Unzip the file. Remove all contents except the concrete directory. (again, where?)
3. At this point you should have a folder named something like concrete5.7.x.x, with only a "concrete" directory inside it. (I have to assume that this is on the host server)
4. Move the concrete5.7.x.x folder into your updates/ directory. (again, on the host?)
5. Head to Dashboard > System and Settings > Update Concrete5. The update should be listed, and you can click through to update to the latest version.
TIA for the help.

Update #2 -
So the trick is to transfer the high level folder with the version, and all of the license and version files, over in the SFTP transfer
Path should be:
concrete 5.7.5.13/updates/all of the files
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ transfer this level of the file tree, and all of the resulting directory and files.
Take this line of the instructions literally:
*Move the concrete5.7.x.x folder into your updates/ directory.*

I manually downloaded the 5.7.5.13 to my local drive - and did the "removal" steps.
Transferred the Concrete folder to the server : path = updates/concrete/the rest of the file folders.....
Go into the dashboard as documented in updates and the dashboard reports no file is available.
Wondering, perhaps the path should = updates/the rest of the file folders... ?
