Upgrade Issue

I am trying to upgrade from 5.3.1.1 to 5.3.3.1

First, I backed up my database as the upgrading instructions suggested.

Second, I downloaded 5.3.3.1 and replaced the concrete directory.

I went to the upgrade url to run the update and it says I have to upgrade to 5.3.2 first.

My question is - if I upgrade to 5.3.2 and then 5.3.3 should it work? Or will I have to restore my database after the upgrade?

It should be fine, however it may not be a totally smooth road. I had issues upgrading from 5.3.2 to 5.3.3.1, but they were fixable and now everything is working great.

There are a few posts around which may help in the event of any issues (mostly duplicate key errors):

http://www.concrete5.org/index.php?cID=21083...
http://www.concrete5.org/index.php?cID=23201...
http://www.concrete5.org/index.php?cID=21329...

So I guess keep your backups safe, take your time and follow those upgrade instructions:http://www.concrete5.org/help/building_with_concrete5/updates/news/...

If you do get stuck though, come back here and someone will be able to point you in the right direction.

Thank you so much for your reply.

Although I cannot find instructions on how to upgrade to 5.3.2, I'm assuming it is the same... upload concrete folder and then visit upgrade url? Yes?

Nevermind my question above. I tried it and it worked.

I was successful in upgrading from 5.3.1 to 5.3.2 and the site is working fine.

However, I replaced the concrete directory with files from 5.3.3 and when I run the upgrade, I can tell its trying to upgrade because it lags a little and then it comes to a white screen - does not confirm the upgrade has completed - its just blank.

Logging back in to the dashboard confirms that the upgrade has not taken place.

Any suggestions?

HA! So... after 3 hours of trying to figure this out I found that Firefox browser wasn't printing the error. I tried in Safari and here's what I found:

An Unexpected Error occurred while upgrading: mysql error: [1061: Duplicate key name 'logType'] in EXECUTE("ALTER TABLE Logs ADD INDEX logType (logType)")

I searched the forum for error 1061 and don't see anyone talking about it. Could this be the same as error 1062?
