Upgraded to 5.6.2 from 5.5 and lost captcha

I've upgraded 2 sites to 5.6.2 and on both the captcha image has disappeared. I have exhausted the forums on missing captcha image with no solution.

Can anyone please help?

I'm having the same problem. It started after I moved the site from a subdirectory to the base directory. I've looked at all of the solutions and nothing has worked so far.
