Upgrading 5.5 to 5.6
Permalink
I had a lot of trouble earlier this year with the upgrade process and eventually got thing up and working, at least basically.
external website iswww.www.northernplasticsurgery.com...
But some things seem broken...I can't seem to approve new pages, page design gives an option to change themes but not page type, when I add a user I don't get a choice to add them to a group, although I can see 2 groups when in search.
Despite all this I successfully installed extended FAQ and added to it fine...it just wont go live as it seems page is still waiting approval.
The thing that makes me think it is an install that hasn't gone through is that some parts seem to say I'm on 5.6 and some on 5.5, and no upgrades are available.
If after some advice about fixing this, my last option is nuke the site and run dreamhost one click again and hope I can restore from backup.
Any and all advice appreciated, cheers, Mark.

I wonder if it might have anything to do with the 'Facebook Like' add-on. I'm not sure it's compatible and it's throwing an error. Try removing it from a page temporarily to see if that allows you to edit things properly.
Thanks guys
I eventually figured it out...I was running a 5.5.2.1 database and bodgy half updated 5.6.1.2 core!?
Seems to be an issue with getting older sites from 5.4 past 5.5.2.1 to 5.6.x, I've now got things at least kind of going ok I think having edited the config/site.php file to point to concrete5.5.2.1
Hopefully developers will be able to figure out a fix...
