Upgrading to 5.6.0.1

I am trying to upgrade to version 5.6.0.1 since the Pro Events addon I bought needs it.
When tryingto upgrade from the dashboard, the screen went white. Therefore, I uploaded and unzipped the new version via ftp and C5 found it as an avalibel update.
Then the screen went white again (after asking C5 to update). Now it teels me it is running 5.5.1 and that there are no avalible updates.
What to do? (I clearded the cashe after getting the last error)

you definitely should not post login info here. please edit and remove.
Also, ProEvents does in fact have older versions available for download. You dont' "have" to have C5.6.
Although, I definitely do recommend moving to C5.6.
