Uploading to the server

Hi,
I'm sure this is something very basic that I'm overlooking, but I have yet to get my home page to appear when clicking the link. I make edits from concrete 5 and publish them, but when going back to the original site still get the message: "This site is under development.
This page indicates the webmaster has not uploaded a website to the server. For information on how to build or upload a site, please visit your web hosting company's site."

Thanks for your help!

Go to your dashboard and click system and settings, under permissions and access click maintenance mode. Disable it if its enabled. If its not that than please put a link to site or pm a link.

Just to clarify,

You have installed c5 to this domain either through simple scripts or manually ?

I just got confused when you say editing on concrete5, and original site and want to check that your not editing on a demo and than hoping it pops on your server.

I installed it through simple scripts, and rechecked that installation. It has worked fine for my other website, and I haven't been able to identify how this is different.

Concrete5 is not installed at this domain. Could it be that you moved it in another directory on your webserver?

I double checked my installed scripts and it appears to have that domain
Other parts of the domain (the less developed pages) seem to appear fine when I make them visible (e.g. http://www.worldwidewritings.com/index.php/about/contact-us/... )

Your Homepage is reachable this way: http://www.worldwidewritings.com/index.php...

What does you .htaccess look like?
worldwidewritings replied on at Permalink Reply
There it is! So why does it still not open without /index.php?

Sorry, I'm still a novice... Where do I see the .htaccess?

Ah, got it. (see attached)

Well, that's not exactly what I meant ;).

Can you navigate on the server via FTP? There should be a file named ".htaccess" in the root of your C5 installation. What is its content?

I have ftp://ftp.worldwidewritings.com/concrete/ but don't see .htaccess

Thanks for your help and patience!

Unfortunately that doesn't seem to suffice. You need real FTP software and connect to the server in order to see the ".htaccess" file.

Or, if there really is none (which I doubt), you need to put one in place.

Have you tried switching on / off Pretty URLs within C5?

If you want to see htaccess (as opposed to edit it), you can install
