Using Monotype's web fonts system
Permalink 1 user found helpful
Trying out Monotype's web fonts service (they have a free level of service) but can't get it to work. Wondering if anyone else has had success. All it requires is adding a little code to the <head> area, and it appears there when I view the source of the page. But no font substitution. Perhaps I haven't grabbed the right CSS info (the service grabs it for you).
It was a simple fix. Thanks for reaching out to me. Now to find an easier way to add the code to all the pages other than one page at a time.

Would you mind posting the solution please? I'm also looking at using a Monotype(Linotype) web font very shortly and it may be handy if I also run into issues.
It was actually obscenely easy. I just missed the last step. Picking fonts to use is the biggest hassle. Too many choices even at the free level of the service.
Set up the project at fonts.com. you can add style tags used by hand, or have the site query the page and show you what it found. Assign fonts to each style. Copy the code it offers when you are done and publish the project. That was my mistake.
Then in C5 I added an extra item to the header of my page under properties for the pageLook in the third tab under properties. I'm on my phone and can't check the names of things easily. You might need to add the extra header item field. Paste the code in there and you are done. Ultimately I will dig into the template's header file and put it there. Look at pranzare.com. the home page is using the web fonts, but lower pages are not. If you want to change or add styles just log back into fonts.com and do it there.
Seems more graceful than Google fonts, and if you use a paid level of service you can download printer fonts and have more styles to choose from. I will be adding this to more of my sites.

Sorry to hear you ran into some issues. Can you send your email address associated with your account and the website you're using the service on to webfontssupport@fonts.com? We'll take a look and get you up and running.
