Why Are There Two Admin Passwords?

Immediately after installing C5, I was shown a page that gave me a six-character temporary password (all numbers) and told that I could now log in to my website. Later, I received an email from [my domain].com confirming a successful C5 installation.
There was a different password in this email, it had 16 characters and was mixed-case letters and numbers.
Not knowing which was the actual admin login password, and figuring one of them had to be the right one, I logged out and back in again.
It turns out that the six-digit number password was the right one.

Why would the system issue two passwords?
And also, I can't find in the Dashboard or on the site how to change the admin password.

Thank you.

OK. I found in the dashboard where to change the password -
(Users & Groups : Find Users tab : Edit User button).

The confirmation email was sent from my domain. Maybe it is generated through my hosing service. I'll check with them.
Thank you.
