You must chmod 755 concrete/libraries/3rdparty/htmldiff.py

Hey forum,

im trying to install Concrete5 (5.4.2) and i get this error:
Version Comparison Available
You must chmod 755 concrete/libraries/3rdparty/htmldiff.py and disable PHP safe mode.

I´ve added 777 permission for the file, but i doesn´t help. My support from my host (unoeuro) tells me that PHP safe mode shouldn´t be a problem, and he will not disable it because it "weakens other customers security". What do i do? Other than change host.

You should still be able to install concrete. The only thing that particular file does is turn on version comparison. I've installed several sites without it. just enter your information on the install screen and ignore the warning on the left.

Thanks for the answers. I allowed permissions on the wrong folder. Was changing permissions for root/blocks/, and should have changed for root/concrete/blocks/ :-)

Try again, and make sure it doesn't check that root-"something" is correct.. Should work :)
