When I try to create an account with community under add functionality it comes up with this reason for not putting it through. Any suggestions? Thank you so much.

ps I'm using bluehost if that helps.

weird just tested it and it went fine, can you reproduce this on a trial account?

It worked fine there. But I'm still having the problem. I'm using Bluehost as I said before and I had wordpress installed before and deleted it, but still found some wp files and had to delete a couple to get the easy links feature to work so I wonder if some wp coding is causing some problems. Also everytime I log into the dashboard I have to wait like 20 sec for the daily view part to open up (the top right corner chart). Do you think they could be involved?

Thanks for your help I really appreciate it!

Ah, clarification on this problem. Going through the marketplace connect, the problem is this.

1. When you try to first connect to the marketplace, we initialize a connection to concrete5.org to generate a new marketplace token (which is a long series of letters and numbers.)

2. This connection requires either of the following enabled on your server:

"allow_url_fopen" - which is a setting in the config file php.ini.

or curl extensions on the server (as someone else mentioned.)

If both of these unavailable, the token will never be generated, and you won't be able to complete the connection to the server. We can't really do anything about this – but we could make the error message much more explicit letting you know what you need to have enabled. I'd talk to your hosting company and make sure that curl or allow_url_fopen is available on your server.
:End Quote.

I suggest you either build a check into the installer checks (a la GD library) or fix it or do away with the token idea. The average user is drawn in by the concrete5 philosophy "concrete5 makes it easy for anyone to build and manage a website." This makes it difficult for "anyone".

Still getting the error despite the following:

browser cache cleared
"allow_url_fopen" is ON
php5-curl installed
server restarted

Any suggestions?

Does phpinfo(); show curl extensions?
connected replied on at Permalink Reply
@ defunct, yes, details below:

cURL support: enabled
cURL Information: libcurl/7.18.0 OpenSSL/0.9.8g zlib/1.2.3.3 libidn/1.1

I've also done another clean install (same environment) to be sure.

Hello,

all this jargon just hurts my head, i am an amateur, and simply want to design my sign, i kept having the same problem, i came on here a month ago, and no concrete advise, and i checked again now.

so if i get it correct, i need to contact hostmonster to sort it out?

Has this been resolved? Or forgotten? I'm using bluehost, and when trying to create an account for adding functionality, get the "your site token must be 64 characters".

Is it simply that concrete5 is continuing to block bluehost? If so, could you please mention it on the main concrete5 install page, so people like me don't spend 2 days setting up a site using concrete5, to find out this sort of thing?

Thanks

Has anyone resolved this issue yet, if so how?

I have the same problem on a Mac 10.5.8 Server hosting version 5.4.1.
I can't seem to get it to connect. I've been through all the forums with no real solutions.
Very frustrating.

I did find a solution. Come to find out that it was my web filter causing the problem. It sees the connection to the Market Place as non standard web traffic and blocks the connection. I put in an exclusion and then it connected fine.

What exclusion did you put in, and where?

I have the same problem, can anyone give a solution?
I bought some add ons from the marketplace, and now I cannot instal them, because if I just upload the unzipped files into Packages they donßt show up in dashboard for install.
This is very annoying. I am not using bluehost

Can anyone tell me a workaround for installing addons without connecting to the marketplace?

has the issue been resolved? I reported it as a bug but there is no solution. What is the most annoying is that you simply cannot update c5 easily without the connection to the marketplace
