YouTube Add-on not Working Anymore

We use the YouTube Pro add-on for our website. It was working just fine until Thursday, June 4th. It appears the add-on is no longer compatible with an update that YouTube did on their software. Does anyone know when the add-on will be updated?

Hi odexcellence,

This question is add-on specific, so I recommend checking the add-on support page and making a new ticket if the question isn't covered.

Google have deprecated version 2.0 of their API. Access now requires a developer account and API key as far as we can see for anything more complex than using their embed scripts. We have an add-on impacted ( Formigo Social Life) and from a cursory look it's quite a bit more complex, both for the developer and the admin who has to obtain a key for it. We can't say if/when we will support Youtube again in our add-on even though we've covered the ground with the Sassy Maps add-on of ours.

Contact the developer, but you probably should have no expectations to be fair. Google moved the goal posts.

Although I don't know enough about the technical side of the plug-in to completely understand your response, it sounds as though there are issues that may take some time to be resolved. Do you have more information at this time? A large part of our company is webinar based and we really need more information as to when this will be resolved. Do you know if there is another plug-in we can switch to in the meantime?

It's not so much as matter of resolution - it is not a temporary issue. The method of accessing Youtube content is now different. The developer may have plans to produce a new version so speak to him/her. They may also have no plans to produce one since as mentioned the new API requires a key and is more complex to both code and to educate users on.

Single video embeds using Youtubes provided scripts still work so that's the route to go if you need to work with YT video.

We need to know who to contact about this. As I understand, concrete5 has a list of apps that we can use that will work with the platform. If this one is not working, what one will? It is absolutely ridiculous that we have purchased a product that is supposed to work for concrete5 and you cannot tell us anything about it. Please let me know if you have any of the below information:

Who we can contact in regards to the app?
What other apps will work to play webinars on our website?
