Translate a block in multiple languages?

I am on c5.7.5.8 and up

What's the best practice to translate a custom block?
PATH po: blockName/languages/fr_FR/LC_MESSAGES/messages.po
PATH mo: blockName/languages/fr_FR/LC_MESSAGES/messages.mo

Can I use this one above?
