Language Files
Permalink
Hi,
I was wondering where there is a file for the massage.po template for concrete 5 version 5.4.1. (I only found the file for 5.2).
Also, is there any location where there is a list of all the languages that were translated, with an option to download them?
Thanks.

When I download a language file, I get a zip with two files: 541.po and 5405.po
What is the difference between the two? Which one should I use?

use 541.po, thats for 5.4.1 the others for 5.4.0.5
the changes between 5.4.1 and 5.4.1.1 i don't believe made any translation changes, you have to compile the po file into a mo file before use,
in 541.po what is the meaning of the line:
#: /Users/michaelkrasnow/5.4.1RC1/concrete/blocks/autonav/add.php:1
Do I need to change anything on the line? Do I change anything other than the msgstr?
Thanks.

heh, thats where i built the po file, there is no need to change lines in the file, if you want to edit the file, use a tool like poedit,
Hi Michael,
I downloaded the Russian ru_RU file. It seems that the file is ANSI encoded and not unicode. When I try to load it in poedit it comes up with the folowing error:
Failed to convert file "e:\xxxxx\concrete5_PO\ru_RU\541.po" to unicode.
This is a little problem - all my own po files is in unicode utf8 format and poedit actually saves them in unicode format.
Do you have a solution for this?
Regards Michael

Open the po file in notepad or any other text editor and save it as utf-8.
That should work.
That should work.
Hi meir,
Unfortunately no go! I tried that already and yes, the file is converted. But the Russian translation is not, it just comes out as a lot of "????????????".
But I have found a solution. I am using a little utility called "CpConverter". You can find it here:http://sourceforge.net/projects/cp-converter/...
I open the file and then set the source to: Kyrillisk (Windows) - 1251 and the destination to: Unicode (UTF-8) - 65001. And finally click the run button. And there you are - file converted and poedit can read it with no problems.
Hope you can use it....
Michael.
