Ok, so we can have profiles even add personal blocks for editing. Awesome!

Now, I want to offer a separate page option. So everyone can create a profile but also have the option for creating a group page. So say somebody has a bicycle group that they want people to join and comment on. While another user has an ice-cream group & wants the same functionality. Each user will need their own 'group' page. This would be an option offered on registration.
This can be moderated by creating groups & then assigning permissions to a page but I haven't a clue how to make this a point n click option for my users.
Suggestions, ideas, clues, hints, tricks, add-ons, any helpful info?
