Removing /en /br etc

I have set up seperate domain names with the domain mapper and pointed them to the relevant foreign content, but I need to remove the /en or .br appearing at the end of the URL when the user lands on the homepage and browsers the site, these are actual pages in my site as the landing page for each language version is a page.
Can I do a mod rewrite to remove these from the URL so you gethttp://www.domain.br/aboutus instead ofhttp://www.domain.br/br/aboutus
