Sitemap is missing whole language tree ... sometimes.

Hard to explain, easy to see.
Both cases I'm logged in as admin. In my linux/firefox browser I can see all the French pages in the site map. However, when I log in from Mac/safari I can only see English.
What I the world do I have set wrong?
