Hi, I am starting a translation into spanish. Hopefully it's universal spanish, but might turn out to be es_mx :)

sorry, this is just the translation of the concrete5 interface to spanish, does nothing to the actual website content.
I am looking for an add-on that will translate on the fly.

Apologies if I'm wrong on this - but I think this is the first translation I've seen for Spanish (at least, with a public messages.po file.)

In your c5 directory, find the /languages folder. Inside it, create a folder called es_ES. Inside that folder create another one called LC_MESSAGES.
Download the messages.mo file from this message (has a few fixes) and place it into the LC_MESSAGES dir.
Look for the file config/site.php and add the line
Upload all files to your server.

He seguido tus instrucciones con sumo cuidado y no funciona, no consigo ver nada en español.
Estoy empezando con c5 y además tengo otro problema que te cuento por si me puedes ayudar.
He realizado la instalación y todo perfecto salvo las búsquedas. Es incapaz de encontrar texto con acentos, me dice que la palabra no existe y me convierte en la caja del formulario la letra "á" en "á".
Mi BD está en "Spanish (es-utf-8)" y "utf8_general_ci" y por lo que he visto los php también usan utf8.
¿Puedes ayudarme?

no se como ayudarte, estas instrucciones son las oficiales, y las que a mi me han funcionado perfecto en dos ocasiones. has verificado todos los pasos? si no lo consigues, te recomiendo escribas en los foros generales, donde algun experto te puede ayudar mejor...
Gracias, voy a a poner un post en inglés a ver si alguien me orienta, sobre todo con el tema UTF, ya que el que no funcione la traducción tampoco me importa en exceso.
Estoy muy interesado en este sistema, no soy programador, lo mía es más html y flash y este CMS me resulta el más sencillo k he probado

He podido configurarlo en español a la primera con las indicaciones. A ver si poco a poco vamos dando forma a este CMS en nuestro idioma. C5 es muy cautivador. Hasta pronto
Pude configurarlo en español reinstalando todo, debía haber algún problema raro.
Por cierto... si has hecho algún sito con c5 me gustaría saber si el sistema de búsquedas te encuentra las palabras con acentos.
Llevo una semana dándole vueltas y no hay manera de que funcione. Por lo mucho que he leído al parecer el problema es el framework que usa para búsquedas, Zend Lucene, que da fallos con la codificación de caracteres.

que bien que lo lograste! Si he hecho solo un sitio en c5 en espanol hasta ahora, pero no uso la busquda, asi es que creo no te sera de mucha ayuda.

Hola gente, tengo un problema, no existe en mi sitio el archivo config/site.php.
Lo tuve que crear y agregar la linea de código que se indica aqui. Pero no funciona, me da un error:

hace unos días empecé a usar c5 la versión mas reciente, estoy desarrollando un proyecto escolar para la comunidad donde vivo, en fin intento traducir la aplicación porque los usuarios seran personas que no tienen el minimo conocimiento de ingles, en fin, estoy usando ubuntu jaunty, y eh seguido cada paso, yo tengo instalado c5 en un servidor local, la cosa es que no se traduce la aplicacion, he creado las carpetas dentro de languajes queda mas o menos asi:
/var/www/concrete/languages/es_ES/LC_MESSAGES
alli he copiado los archivos message
agrego la linea: define('LOCALE', 'es_ES');
en
/var/www/concrete/config/site.php
y tambien he modificado el archivo
/var/www/concrete/concrete/config/base.php
agregandole
("LOCALE", 'es_ES'); en lugar de ("LOCALE", 'us_US');
la verdad no se que mas hacer, que no debi hacer, ojala alguien pueda responder

Tengo instalado WAMP en mi PC para montar Concrete5 version 5.4.2. Realice todos los pasos que se explican aca; pero no funciona aun.
Pregunta sobre Windows se utiliza el archivo messages.po ó lo debo renombrar a messages.mo???
