spelling mistake in French translation
Permalink 1 user found helpful
Hi,
How to correct a spelling error in the French translation ?
How do I get the latest version of the translation source file fr-FR (message.po)?
The error is in the following sentence in the form block:
Merci de taper les lettres et chiffres présentes dans l’image. Cliquer sur l’image pour changer le captcha.
The correction is to remove the last e of the word : présentes
Sorry for my bad English.
Thanks

Hi radeff,
Thanks you for reply.
The informations you mention are very clear.
The reload does not seem to work. I attached images to explain what I did.
For translation, I do not have the expertise. I'm really bad in English. It was my client who mentioned the error in the form. She is a writer. I can perhaps adjust the French fr_CA if I can use fr_FR as a base. There is not much difference.
I appreciate your help.
Thanks again

(S'il vous plait, pourriez-vous parler en Anglais ? Ceci c'est un forum qui plusieurs de gens lit, et la plus grand partie d'eux ne comprend pas le Français...)
The best way would be to fix the translation in Transifex (it's the place where translators translate strings).
You can ask to join the French translation group here:https://www.transifex.com/concrete5/concrete5/...
The French coordinators will need approve your join request. If they don't answer you in two weeks, I'll approve your request.
Once the translations have been fixed on Transifex, after a while (at max 1 day) you'll be able to download the correct translation file fromhttps://www.concrete5.org/developers/translate...
For "fr_FR - French (France)" you'll download a ZIP archive containing the "messages.mo" file, that should replace the one existing in the "application/languages/fr_FR/LC_MESSAGES" directory.
Finally, you have to clear the concrete5 cache in order to see the new translations.

ok sorry next time in english...
@mlocati I'm impressed, pretty good French.
Here's a translation:
For the question seehttps://www.concrete5.org/developers/translate...
If you're talking about code from custom scripts (blocks, packages...) here's a solution for 5.7 or 5.8:
create a folder in application/languages/site
Make sure it is writeable by the server
chmod 777 the "site" folder
put the existing translation there and rename it fr_FR.mo
cp fr_FR/LC_MESSAGES/messages.mo site/fr_FR.mo
change authorizations
chmod 666 site/fr_FR.mo
go to this url (adapt according to your site)
/www2/index.php/dashboard/system/multilingual/translate_interface/reloaded
reload
a neat interface is available for translations;
If you upgrade your translations won't be lost
In case you're interested, it is possible to help with translations by joining the translation team through transiflex:https://www.transifex.com/concrete5/concrete5/dashboard/...
I added your suggested translation for 5.8

I studied it for 8 years at school... sooooo many years ago ;)

Well, we now officially have a secret language to poke fun at the others in c5 slack channels :b
Nope... Google Translate would help others understanding the sense...
What about Bergamasco (a local dialect spoken in my native city)? Google Translate doesn't know it, and it's very cryptic...
An example? "You too go to see the alive bees" in Bergamasco sounds like "ai a u a et i ae ie" (not joking, it's a real sentence ;)

or Moroccan darijja (local arabic)
same sentence: 7ta n'ta sir t'shouf l'n7al l'7ayin
:)))

/www2/index.php/dashboard/system/multilingual/translate_interface/reloaded
faire un refresh
un chouette interface pour adapter les traductions est disponible;
en cas de mise à jour, tes traductions seront sauvegardées
si jamais, il est possible de contribuer aux traductions en intégrant le team de translation via transiflex,https://www.transifex.com/concrete5/concrete5/dashboard/,... j'ai mis la correction suggérée pour la 5.8
