Longtime advocate of c5 here.... I want to customize my commerce a bit, let me start explaining from here...
Small issue #1, secion1:::::: Attribute types / styling
In my store checkout, my zip code ("postal zip") should be limited 5 characters, instead it take up the entire column "as big as address"
PS: I've put in the research but don't have the skills to figure anything out. I look forward to providing what I think is SOLID findings... of course i'm willing to help as I can with anything I need changes

the billing and shipping addresses are actualy not a part of the ecommerce add-on but a part of C5, it is a user attribute. To modify it's behavior, you have to override the C5 attribute or create a new one that does what you want it to be.
If your concern is only aesthetic then so simple css should do the trick.
