Add Page Access Denied. Please Advise!

Hi there. Recently switched over from the older Concrete5 to version 5.7.5.2. Installed a new theme and was ready to begin building a new site. However, I've come up against an unexpected roadblock I can't seem to get around. When I go to the sitemap, click on Home and then Add Page I get the following message: "You do not have access to add any page types beneath the selected page." I have granted my "admin" user every permission I can find in the dashboard. I have not enabled Advanced Permissions. I have signed out and signed back in countless times. I cannot add pages to my site. There's just a homepage. That's it. Please help me move forward. None of the forums I've read seem to help with this.

Thank you!
R.

Hello,

First solution would be to use the super admin user (user name: admin). It has absolute powers to do anything

Second solution would be to enable advanced permissions to actually grant your current user the proper permissions

Thanks for your message mnakalay,

I am using the super admin and have enabled advanced permissions. Have granted "admin" permissions everywhere I can find (is "admin" different from the "Administrators" listed by default?). Still no luck. This is maddening. Sill receiving the "no access" message when I try to add a page in the sitemap. If you have a third solution, I'd love to hear it!

Thank you.

Admin really has ALL the powers and can't be deleted.
The Administrators group gives a lot of powers by default and should include the "add page" permission. Some permissions are not set by default like the possibility to log in as another user.

Anyway, I am not sure what the problem is. If you want, send me an access to your dashboard by PM (not here in public) and I can check it for you.

I would try a fresh install. What you are describing sounds like something has gone wrong when you installed.

Have you also tried switch themes, if it is still doing it on another theme then it's the install you have.

Thanks TMD. I tried switching over to the Elemental theme, same problem. I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the theme I want (Newsprint). When you say the issue might be the install I have, do you mean the install of concrete5??
Thanks.

TMD and mnakalay, I've just reinstalled concrete5 and - success! I can add pages! Yikes that was a seemingly unnecessary nightmare. Thanks so much for your time and help!
