Adding a Quiry/Quote form to ecommerce

I'm trying to get the ecommerce addon to have the function to be a catalog/showcase, so instead of the product having a price and adding it to a shopping cart, it would instead be added to an enquiry cart, that would be sent to the my email? Visitors thus, can send an inquiry on the products they like.

ie: Choose products - add to cart - checkout - name/email details form - send details.

Hello,

This as been requested a lot of times, but currently there is no out of the box solution. If you know some PHP you can always hack the e-commerce add-on so that it doesn't show prices.

Yes I know a little php but not worked with the ecommerce addon before, so its more about which files need amending...
