Broken Website after upgrade.

I am in need of some advice... I am a government contractor and not sure if you accept Visa/MC.. I have upgraded from 5.5.1 to 5.5.2.1 successfully. But if I try to upload past that version, like 5.6.0, I get a access denied. CS5 version matches the database version, just not sure where to go from here, except to rid myself from CS5.

Any help would be great here.

Thanks

Troubles in going from 5.5 to 5.6 are usually related to 'override' files. First, make a backup of your current database.

If you find any files in these folders then rename them temporarily and see if you can upgrade:

[root]/controllers
[root]/elements
[root]/helpers
[root]/libraries
[root]/models

These are the main culprits so lets starts with them and see how it goes.

I will look, but each and every time I upgrade it says upgrade was successful. I did turn-off and clear cache as well.

They are all empty.

Thanks

After reboot instead of going to the homepage it redirects to the account logon page.

Are you upgrading manually (by copying a new version of the core files to your server) or are you upgrading from the concrete5 dashboard?

My process is to download and place these files in the update directory then run the update script from the dashboard.

It comes back and says it was successful. It does modify the php file to look into the new core directory and the MySQL also gets modified, but when you attempt to try the web page again it comes up with the login prompt.

I do clear the cache of both the website through the dashboard and I clear the cache in firefox before performing the upgrade. I have performed several upgrades and any and all upgrades fail after tyring to upgrade to anything higher then 5.5.2.1.

If you want you can send me your number (rbruce@rma.army.mil) and I can call you if you have the time to work on this with me. Its been pretty frustrating.

Hello,
Where do you see "Access Denied"? It's possible something happened with permissions on the upgrade. Have you tried logging in as the admin user?

Best Wishes,
Mike
