C5 Mentoring

Permalink 1 user found helpful
Hi All!
We are interested in setting up mentoring arrangement with a skilled c5 developer under some sort of pay per ticket arrangement. Our project involves use of C5 as an event management application and so much of our work is profile / form / database focused

Timing is important to us right now. We are likely to request code samples.

We welcome any response

Kind regards
Mike

Dear Chad!
Good to make contact -- we already use several instances of several of your packages -- just great so thanks for that

With this project, we are solution architects, and we have a skilled PHP developer. At this stage what we are wanting is to set up some sort of pay per ticket consultation arrangement, mainly asking for critique on approach or tips and possible code samples on how to undertake a specific development task

Our project involves sports event management with custom forms of medium complexity and integrated business logic. We have already consulted Andrew and Franz and pursuing

C5 Profile <=1|1=> Registration Profile <==1|many==> Registration form architecture

The two profiles are because the c5 profile will not at this stage allow more than one use of an email address. (unfortunately a business requirement). Andrew and Franz say that they are planning profile grouping for 5.7

So this project is specialized for sporting events at this time

To sum up:
* We seek C5 mentoring on some sort of per instance arrangement
under some reasonable response commitment
* We may also require assistance with development of subcomponents

This is a lot of information and we hope some of it is of use to you anyway.

Please let us know if you think you might be available under these terms -- we will set up a skype appt

Kindest regards
Mike

If "Chad" doesn't follow through then keep me in mind. Also keep in mind that hopping into and out of a ticket is a few hours. Where are you located? Do you need someone to come in for a few days and do some on-site stuff/training? I am fairly well versed in the system.

Hi Scott

I'm actually looking for something similar. US based, and pref in the pacific timezone, but that is not as crucial.

I'm actually an experienced php dev that has worked alot with SilverStripe and did J2EE for years before that. I prefer to learn things from people and not specs. I can imagine a serious of 1hour skype conversations that help me get past the basics quickly and also advise me on best practices, work flow tips, that sort of thing.

I could probably get the client to fund most of it as long as your rate is reasonable. I think maybe <10-15 hours. If things work out, I would likely want to work with you on future projects (which are already in the pipeline)

thanks,
Artyom
