Can't automatically update to 5.6.3.1

Hello,

Any tips on how to manually update from 5.6.0.2 to 5.6.3.1?

In my dashboard, it shows that the update is available with a download button, but when I download it get the message saying "Currently Running 5.6.0.2 no updates available."

Same non-action occurs when I try to update via Softacular.

I have downloaded this software and could ftp it to my site. Can i just drop it into the "updates" folder where my 5.6.0.2 folder resides?

Or should i just delete the software using Softacular, reinstall and then restore my site?

Thanks.

Give this link a good read through. It will go over how you can safely and manually update your site. Any questions let us know!

You can only copy databases between the same version of concrete5, so if you decide to go the reinstall route, you will be entering everything manually.

I think you could run a force update and that would take care of this? As long as no issues occur during the update script.

This worked...kind of.

Now when i log into the site i get an HTML page of options instead of the nice dashboard that I used to have.

Also, do i need to delete the old files?

And it seems that the scrolling photos on my home page (http://www.davidjamesagency.com) no longer show up.

Any suggestions?

That sounds like the dashboard's CSS is not loading properly. Try clearing your browser's cache and C5's cache and then reloading the page(s) with CTRL+SHIFT+'R'

Looks like you're missing some files (lots of 404 errors in network viewer), try copying up a fresh copy of the /concrete folder out of a 5.6.3.1 download (rename your old one in case you need to switch back to it).

Thanks - will do. Do I put it in the /blocks/concrete directory or in the /updates/concrete5.6.3.1/concrete directory?

Tried this and it didn't help. Other ideas?
