Database cleanup ECommerce false "orders"
First, I'm just a website owner and don't really understand this stuff. I had this problem taken care of before by a C5 expert but when I went back to him to do the clean up again, he suggested I learn how to do it myself... so here I am looking for a little help.
I'm still running C5 4.2 and there is some kind of a flaw in the ECommerce that it writes lines in the database seemingly for every visitor whether they start a shopping cart or not. I get 1 milllion pageviews a month so a lot of visits and the database gets pretty big after a while. The effect is that ECommerce behaves very slowly on the back end admin while processing orders. Sometimes taking several minutes just to open the "Orders" tab. I'll attach a Word doc that I have pasted in what the other guy did and also someone else's idea. I think these are just one time clean up/fixes and don't know if there is a way to fix it from happening in the future. But the fix definitely speeds things up.
Let me know if anyone would like to handle this little job and how much you charge. I can give cPanel access. The site ishttp://www.netknots.com
Thanks,
John
