Extend function to request new attributes be filled in, whilst user is already logged in

Hi
I use 1 year cookies to keep my members signed in all of the time.
The problem I have is, i want to add new custom attributes and get already logged in users to be forced to fill them out.
It needs to redirect users to the same place a person logging in is directed to if additional attributes are required.
Can anyone help?
