Extending C5 search project
Permalink
We are small Australian based non-profit and we have a new book published on our website HTML. We want to extend the C5 search functionality for the book so that instead of listing each page that contains the search term, every occurrence of the search term is returned as a unique result.
The book is split into sections and has 120 HTML pages. The book also has a unique page type. We would want to restrict the search results to a single page type (eventually we will utilise this search over a number of books, each of which has its own page type).
A search would return a unique result for each occurrence of the search term. Each result would show a snippet of a few lines surrounding the search term.
Each result would be linked to the original HTML page. On loading, the page would scroll to focus on the snippet of the result and highlight just the search term in the snippet. To achieve this I envisage the page would be passed the search query and some or all of the snippet as parameters and javascript would be used to scroll to the snippet and highlight the appropriate search term.
An example of the functionality we want to achieve is Apple's iBooks where every occurrence of the search term is shown as snippet. Seehttps://www.evernote.com/shard/s1/sh/af50a389-4d7f-4356-8a79-a46ecc9... . Note we don't need to replicate the layout of this search.
If you are able to do this work within the next week, we would very much like to engage your services.
Thanks, Marcus.

Ben completed the work for us on this project. I highly recommend him. He was very proficient and skilled and was able to take on this project, come up with a solution that dealt with our requirements as well as identifying and mitigating other issues we hadn't considered.
Marcus.
